Cove is a build-your-own home security system with devices ranging from around $15–$250 a piece. But we found the company’s equipment to be among the most affordable in the market due largely to the fact that Cove offers frequent sales that slash its prices by as much as 60%. With its budget-friendly equipment and affordable monitoring plans, we found it to be a good option for those looking for a deal on their home security system.

Cove doesn’t tie its customers into long-term contracts, so you have a couple of options when purchasing its equipment. You can pay for equipment up front, which can range from as little as $200 to around $500 depending what you choose to include in the system and whether you purchase the equipment on sale.

You can also choose to go with the company’s Pay Later or Pay Never plan. With this plan, you agree to either maintain a service plan with Cove for at least 36 months or pay for the equipment if you cancel early.(1)
Cove doesn’t offer self-monitoring, so you’ll need to subscribe to either Cove Basic ($17.99/month) or Cove Plus ($27.99/month). You can choose to either install Cove yourself or pay a fee of $99 for a professional installation.
