WOW!’s cable and fiber networks put it in competition with both cable and fiber ISPs. If you’re a heavy streamer who does online gaming, works from home, or hosts your own YouTube channel, a fully fiber competitor will give you more reliability and higher speeds—especially upload speeds. WOW!’s first-year pricing discounts are hard to beat on its lowest-tier budget plan, but the 50 Mbps speed won’t be enough for heavy internet users or households with multiple people

Alternatives to WOW!: Which is better?

WOW! internet vs. Xfinity internet: Xfinity overlaps with WOW! across several states, and we’ve rated the two providers fairly closely overall. If your top priority is saving money, WOW! has lower first-year pricing on its slowest budget plan, and you’ll also save money on professional installation. However, Xfinity also has strong value for the price, it offers higher max speeds (although most households won’t need speeds that fast), and it has some of the best-rated reliability in the industry.

WOW! internet vs. Spectrum internet: Spectrum and WOW! share coverage in several southern states and Michigan. If you’re willing to sign a contract, you’ll get the best deal with WOW!’s first-year pricing. Spectrum suffers from some hidden fees, but it has high reliability scores, and it offers a wide variety of bundles if you’re interested in combining internet with TV or phone service.

Compare Wow! internet vs. Spectrum internet

WOW! internet vs. AT&T internet: As a current WOW! customer, you might have access to AT&T instead if you live in specific areas of Michigan, Georgia, or Alabama. AT&T is our top-rated internet provider overall. As a fiber provider, it offers faster upload speeds and better reliability than you can get with a cable-fiber hybrid like WOW!. But WOW! offers lower-tier options for the very budget-conscious who don’t care as much about internet speed.

Compare WOW! internet vs. AT&T internet

WOW! internet vs. Frontier internet: WOW! and Frontier overlap coverage in certain areas of Florida and Michigan. If you can get Frontier’s fiber service, we recommend it for speed and reliability. However, Frontier has very low customer service scores nationwide, and WOW!’s cable-fiber service is significantly better than Frontier’s DSL offering.

Where is WOW! internet available?

Which internet providers you can get will depend on your address. WOW! is available in some urban and some rural areas across nine states in the South and Midwest, but its competitors don’t all overlap in the same places—usually, you’ll have one or two major competitors in a single area, which limits your options. Xfinity, Spectrum, AT&T, and Frontier are some providers that overlap with the largest portions of WOW!’s internet footprint, but you might have other options near you.
