Our top 3 ISP choices in Pflugerville, TX
AT&T fiber, Optimum internet, and T-Mobile 5G Home Internet are our favorite internet providers in Pflugerville.
#1: AT&T fiber internet
AT&T has inconsistent fiber coverage across Pflugerville. Some neighborhoods have really good coverage, and others are spotty at best. But if your address is eligible, then AT&T fiber is an easy “yes.” It has speeds higher than anyone really needs (up to 5 gigs), but fiber internet is faster and more reliable than other types regardless of what speeds you sign up for.

#2: Optimum internet
If your neighborhood doesn’t have fiber access yet, Optimum’s cable internet service is a good back-up. Optimum doesn’t cover 100% of Pflugerville, but most addresses should be eligible. And you can get speeds that are essentially on par with AT&T fiber even though the connection type is different.

#3: T-Mobile 5G Home Internet
Fixed wireless internet still feels like a relatively new concept, but providers like T-Mobile Home Internet are an easy alternative to complicated traditional internet setups. You can install T-Mobile’s 5G gateway yourself and T-Mobile lets you skip a lot of the fees and extra charges that usually come with an internet plan.

All internet providers in Pflugerville
The internet options in Pflugerville include fixed wireless, fiber, satellite, and cable internet. Satellite internet often looks good on paper because providers like Viasat and Starlink advertise high speeds, but satellite internet suffers from latency issues. Even those high speeds can feel pretty slow when you have high latency.
Alternatively, fiber internet providers like AT&T fiber have low latency, which is why it’s faster than other connection types even if the listed speeds are the same.
If you can’t access fiber internet in your area, cable internet plans from Optimum and Spectrum or fixed wireless plans from T-Mobile Home Internet will be the best options.
Fastest internet providers in Pflugerville
AT&T fiber has the fastest advertised speeds in Pflugerville. You can allegedly get up to 5 gigs, which is an unbelievable speed that most people don’t need. Plans like that also tend to be quite expensive.
Spectrum and Optimum also offer gig-level speeds in Pflugerville. So does Astound Broadband, but with much more limited availability.
How much speed do you need?
Cheapest internet providers in Pflugerville
Optimum has some of the cheapest plans for high speeds and reliable internet. You can pay around $35 per month for 100 Mbps, or double your speeds for $5 more per month, which is excellent value.
T-Mobile has lower advertised speeds than some Optimum and AT&T fiber plans, but its pricing is quite affordable. You'll get the best rates when you bundle your home internet with certain mobile phone plans.
Internet options in nearby cities
Pflugerville’s internet options are similar to other Austin metro area cities. Some other places have wider fiber coverage or more cable internet options, but Pflugerville is average on the whole. Travis County (and all of Texas for that matter) could use better access to high-speed broadband plans.

What Pflugerville residents are saying on Reddit
Pflugerville residents commonly talk about fiber internet availability on social media and debate which internet service provider is best. There are several complaints about Suddenlink among these Reddit threads, but the Suddenlink service was taken over by Optimum in late 2022. (1)
(I’m sorry in advance if this isn’t allowed)
Austinites - who do you get the internet from? After 48 hours without internet from AT&T (this is the Gilligan’s Island of outages, customer service promised it was a 2 hour outage, then it would be better by midnight, then by morning, and now they’ve been saying “24 hours” for the last 24 hours - not to mention prior shenanigans with coverage in previous years) I am ready to run into the arms of another provider.
I live in that pocket of North Austin that cannot get Google Fiber. Is Spectrum or Xfinity etc all about the same?
Anyone have polarizing feeling about any other companies?
Thanks in advance!
I have Astound which was formerly branded as Grande. My roommate and I are terminally online and for the year and a half we've had it we have only noticed about 2 minutes of downtime.
I’m moving near the Lakeline Mall area and those are my only two options.
AT&T seems to be mostly reliable, from what I’ve read on here and from friends, but I’ve never heard anything from Astound
Avoid AT&T as if your life depends on it.
I called ATT and they do not provide Fiber in my neighborhood. Anyone know of the fastest internet in the area if you can't get Fiber? Heard bad things about Suddenlink so im reluctant to sign with them.
Zero issues with suddenlink. I have had them for many years with my own modem. Buy yourself a model that has the speed you want and sign up.
I may $70 a month for 400mbps and almost always get that download speed.
We are using AT&T and it goes down daily, multiple times per day. I work remotely so it's starting to look unprofessional with the amount of times that I cut out during meetings. What do you use and how much does it cost? I'm even considering buying some sort of hot spot to use as my main wifi.
Same here, I hate ATT BUT... their fiber has been the fastest and most reliable. Had suddenlink before and it was mostly OK but outages happened a handful of times over the 2 years or so we used them.
The last post I saw on this topic was 3 yrs ago so wanted to see if anything changed.
I'm getting jerked around by Spectrum support, want to see if there are any recommended alternatives. I'm willing to pay a little more for better service.
Google fiber... I don't regret it
Hey y’all. I live in a rural part of West Texas (near the midland Odessa area) and where I’m at I don’t have access to the numerous cable/fiber companies. Nobody wants to service my part of town for some reason even though there are tens of thousands of us. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody in here has Starlink in this part of the US and can provide input on gaming experiences with it. It’s extremely flat here with very little to obstruct signal, but it does get very windy pretty often. I currently use T-Mobile home internet or my phones hotspot with Verizon, and my phones hotspot works better than the T-Mobile. Any input is appreciated.
Greetings, I am in a rural area in South Texas. I am a frequent gamer, mainly FPS shooter games. My ping is on average in the 60-80s, there are days it exceeds that and others were I have 40-50 ping. Starlink is the only option I had other then my 8MPbs DSL. I do not qualify for T mobile Home internet and nor did my hotspot offer much help. All in all Starlink has been reliable for me as far as gaming, but it still has room for improvement.
Internet news and infrastructure in Pflugerville, TX
Pflugerville internet infrastructure still has plenty of room for growth. Overturning existing internet provider monopolies and expanding access to fiber optic internet are two important topics for the city. Texas as a whole has committed to expanding broadband access, although Travis County doesn’t seem to be high on the Comptroller’s priority list for the newly dedicated funds. (2)
